Kenny Terral

He was born in Odessa, Texas, October 11, 1952 to Jim & Donna Terral.  His dad was an oil field worker and a mandolin player. His mom was a housewife. His grandfather was a fiddle player. At the time of his death he left Kenny his fiddle.

He started playing fiddle at age 10 and the started playing guitar in high school in a rock band.  He loved listening to Credence Clear Water Revival.  He started playing banjo with some friends in high school that played bluegrass.  That’s when the bluegrass bug hit him. His dad took him to bluegrass festivals around the Oklahoma area. He told him he should try the mandolin. After giving it a try he was in love. His favorite group was Jim & Jesse and the Virginia Boys.  His favorite mandolin players are, Doyle Lawson, Jessie McRenolds, & Troy Castleberry.

He Quotes: “I have played with a lot of bands, but I love playing with From The Heartland, because they care about each other like family and they care about the fans.”
